After Dawne and I got back from the International Conference in Sydney where we spent quite a lot of time talking about ways to grow our business, our business actually started to head south!  That just was not part of the plan!I had been used to running businesses which headed north most of the time!  When in corporate UK I would have a 5 year plan which would expect an upwards trend in income and this just wasn’t happening in my Kleeneze business - I was disappointed because I expected to be enjoying an ever increasing income - quite the reverse was happening!

I was being told I had to generate 50 leads a week to build the business - what I wasn’t told, but what everyone knew - was that you just can’t do that without spending a lot of money either buying leads or advertising in the newspapers which can be a bit ‘hit and miss’ at the best of times.

I was advised to read books about the business, which I did - I have shelves full and they are all excellent but they didn’t help me in my quest to generate leads. So I decided to buy some ebooks as well as real book on the subject of lead generation.

And as I didn’t enjoy putting flyers through doors or cards on cars I decided to spend as much time as it took researching the Internet in an endeavour to find ways of generating my own leads - after all the Lead Brokers were using the Internet to do just that.

After about 18 months reviewing and discarding many so called experts I at last found the two most experienced leaders who have made millions in just a few short years.

The leaders in what is now known as ‘Attraction Marketing’ are Mike Dillard author of the book ‘Magnetic Sponsoring’ and Ann Seig of ‘The Renegade Network Marketer’

They realised that leading with your ‘opportunity’ no longer worked - you had to become an ‘Information Provider’. They have both developed brilliant systems and many savvy Networkers are following both of them - their systems being very similar.

They both emphasise that the old ways still work but the Internet is faster and can be more effective and a lot cheaper - indeed there are many ways to advertise on the Internet free of charge which will bring prospects to you.

I am now following their system and at the precise moment working with The Renegade University to develop a presence on the Internet to generate FREE leads and create an additional income in the process - how good is that?!

I’ve already got the blog up at running at www.BoostYourIncomeFireYourBoss.com/blog. Why a blog you might ask?  Just read this quote from BusinessWeek Magazine:-

“Go ahead and bellyache about blogs. But you cannot afford to close your eyes to them, because they’re simply the most explosive outbreak in the information world since the Internet itself. And they’re going to shake up just about every business-including yours. It doesn’t matter whether you’re shipping paper clips, pork bellies, or videos of Britney in a bikini, blogs are a phenomenon that you cannot ignore, postpone, or delegate. Given the changes barreling down upon us, blogs are not a business elective. They’re a prerequisite. (And yes, that goes for us, too.)”

Next on the agenda will be the Social Networks such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube etc.

Why? Because statistics show that two thirds of all search results on Google or Yahoo are to be found in those very places - so to have a presence there is important and FREE.

Is this working for me - Yes!
